About Anvil Arts

The Anvil Arts Sculpture Garden & Gallery is the culmination of a lifelong sculptural journey. Established by artist Bill Brown in 1981, the Anvil Arts Studio serves as his primary workspace for sculpture. The expansive studio is equipped with an array of metalworking tools, materials, and ongoing projects. In addition, Bill maintains a separate studio for creating his acrylic paintings on canvas.

The outdoor sculpture garden was developed to showcase Bill’s large-scale forged and fabricated works, alongside sculptures from other notable regional artists. A separate gallery building complements this by featuring diverse styles and mediums from various artists.

As both the sculpture garden and art gallery have grown, Bill’s son, Gamble Brown, has joined the business. Gamble contributes his expertise and plays a key role in expanding the commission-based side of the studio. Learn about the custom placement and installation process here.

Visitors and collectors are invited to explore an extensive range of outdoor and indoor sculptures. The gallery currently represents artists working in iron and other metals, glass, clay, stone, and two-dimensional art, with all exhibited works available for purchase.

Located off Linville Falls Highway, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this unique arts destination is a great place for residents from Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Newland, Linville Falls, Penland, and Boone to visit and experience a range of locally made statues, garden art, iron artworks as well as 2-d pieces for the home.
