Kyle Van Lusk is a seasoned artist and educator who has been creating and exhibiting sculptures since the early 1990s. Known for his large-scale works in steel, his sculptures have been showcased across the Southeast, with notable installations at Duke University, Stringer's Ridge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the Creative Arts Guild’s sculpture garden in Dalton, Georgia.
Lusk’s work embodies a sense of industrial elegance, heavily influenced by both the material and processes he employs, as well as the natural landscape and tool-like industrial forms. His sculptures often integrate the installation site as an essential component of the overall design, creating a dialogue between the work and its environment.
In addition to his artistic practice, Lusk has been a dedicated educator since 1998, teaching sculpture and fostering artistic growth among undergraduate students. He believes that teaching not only cultivates the next generation of artists but also encourages his own self-reflection and creative development.
Currently residing in Brevard, North Carolina, Kyle Van Lusk serves as a Professor of Art at Brevard College, where he continues to balance his dual passions of art creation and education.
